About us
The business was originally started by my granddad, Cecil George Batchelor, Commonly known as "Dib's in 1930. He along with three of his brothers all worked for the local builders at the time in Haywards Heath and surrounding districts. Dib's had nine children, six of whom were boys. All the boys, (of which one was my dad John) were all trained by Dib's to become plasterers. Some of my granddad's brothers who had sons also become plasterers. All have since retired.
On leaving school in 1978 I joined the firm and started as a labourer. I laboured for six years to my granddad and uncles before being allowed to touch "the tools" so to speak and learnt all aspects of plastering by my dad. I now run the business along with my son Christopher who is 32 years old and joined me on leaving school. So four generations of a family business still going strong.
